As a result of the success of several products sub-licensed to pharmaceutical multinationals, in 2001 the Swiss company Altergon SA decided to set up a strategic Italian site of production and R&D called Altergon Italia.
Our strength is in combining the strict respect of the rules and ethical principles that govern the production of the drug, focusing on innovation and scientific research. The production processes, packaging, and Research & Development are secured by high and modern technology and human resources highly technical and professional. Altergon Italia core business is represented by modern plants producing medicated plasters. The uniqueness of the processes developed by Altergon allows us to be identified as European leaders in the production of medicated Hydrogel patches, Drug in Adhesive and Orodispersible Films (ODF)
STRUCTURE
The Altergon Italia production site, situated in the ASI Industrial Area of Morra de Sanctis (Avellino), covers a total area of 50,000 sqm, of which 20,000 sqm is allocated to the manufacturing plants and warehouses, 1,000 sqm executive and technical offices, 10,000 sqm to technical services and utilities, 4,000 sqm to green areas and 15,000 sqm are available for future expansion.
Today, the site includes four manufacturing plants, two modern R&D laboratories (500 sqm), two pilot plants: biotech (350 sqm) and medicated plasters (200 sqm), a modern Quality Control laboratory and an automated warehouse for 7,000 pallets. A side building for general services (including a conference lecture hall and a canteen) is available.
